I am sceptical about this, are they just saying it to boost season ticket sales ?.
Hope it is right and that it is a clean break and that he can no longer take action s that keep dragging us through the courts.

According to Phil Hay , not yet. Positive discussions on-going about sale by MC to AR of remaining 50% . However , sounds like it is getting closer given the recent board appointments.

Although this season MC seems to have calmed down a fair bit, it can only be good news if Rad takes complete control.
Appointing and selecting his own people like Bravo and the guy who used to work for WHU and Arsenal will no doubt help.
For once i can imagine us having a real plan for next season (next Monk, ER, signings, preseason ???).
Can't wait.

and my home shirt arrived, ushering in a new era :-) surely now Leeds get a chance at stability it's gone on in one form or another for 15 years, what do you expect to come from a broken home.

Deffo exciting the see the back of Massimo and his Appalling selections of just about everything, in particular, folk he hired not been good at what they're supposed to be.

If he's a coach he can take us into the Prem, type theory.

Still we have nt seen too much from Radders yet to get excited about.

The two loans were different gravy to what we have been used to so the early signs are OK but we need more from him for sure

Still got a nagging feeling Radrizzani has got his own man in mind as a coach / manager.

If I was monk I would be freshening up my CV.

Would not be a popular start to his ownership though. Similar in fact to Cellino's start with egg head being sacked.

Here's hoping Sheppey . It would make such a difference if we can sort out transfers (in and out) early and plan a proper pre-season.

I would be surprised if Radders rocked the boat and changed the manager

After all, he sees social media and that Monk is adored here along with Pep.

Think it was agreed that Radz would buy out if no promotion so all ready in legal agreement so should be easy to conclude.

Cellino has a ban comping so will want it sorted.
\
Then it is up to Radz whether he sticks with GM
I hope so and give him some budget to work with .

This year there has been no investment sold Cookie  Byram and Mowatt

Lots of loans with some fees for Bartley bought Roofe Antonsson and Pontus About £10m in and out

Yes , Sheppey. The Sun after saying Monk would be sacked and replaced by foreign coach are now claiming he's going to get a 5 year deal. Fiction writing at its best [ipm54l]

Saw that ISAMIR ; hopefully announce Monk contract extension at same time. Need to work ASAP on identifying transfer targets and to be first in queue for them players. We can realistically dream of proper planning and pre-season this year.

Wouldn't mind betting Monks already identified who he would like. I hope and think it might be all agreed just waiting til MC goes then announce it as you say Luid

the problem is all the players will be flying off the Ayia Napa in the
next 2 weeks so they cant sign anyone anyway.

We need a bit of patience also this Summer as deals that are agreed
with clubs wont be made public until the players are around to agree
& sign contracts.

I'll say 1 thing for Cellino though, his loan to buy tactic is a shrewd
bit of business. If no good send 'em back but like Pontus we nailed
an absolute bargain & I heard we had a 2m gentlemans agreement
with Swansea's American owner for Bartley but he's renegged on it.

Jeez, I hope not....

I want some form of entertainment mixed with success. I suppose he'd at least demand a big transfer budget though....

I suppose after all these years in the wilderness, it shouldn't matter how we get up....

Would rather have Monk but at least Big Sam knows how to get teams promoted and not relegated. may be an option if Monk turns down a 1 year deal. Football moves in mysterious ways sometimes....

Can't see BFS here. As regards style of football probably would have said same about Wilko when he was appointed. But surely we'll keep Monk.

By Phil Hay in the YEP today.

the best news is at the bottom for me.

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani wants to buy back Elland Road from its private owner before the end of the summer, lightening the load of the club’s annual rent payments.

Radrizzani told the YEP that either Leeds or his investment firm, Aser Group Holding, would look to activate a clause allowing United to repurchase a stadium which the club sold in 2004.

Leeds auctioned their ground 13 years ago amid severe financial pressures at Elland Road and are burdened with a seven-figure lease which runs to 2029 increases by three per cent every 12 months.

The current cost of annual rent stands at almost £2million, a sizeable portion of Leeds’ £30million turnover, and Radrizzani said he would significantly reduce the club’s expenditure by “bringing the asset within my group”.

Previous owners of Leeds have promised and failed to deliver on the repurchase of Elland Road - Massimo Cellino, who Radrizzani bought out in a full takeover on Tuesday, vowed to buy it back within six months of his own takeover in 2014 - but Radrizzani insisted that six months as a co-owner alongside Cellino had allowed him to “work on the future” and consider his options.

Cellino and Radrizzani negotiated a 50-50 split of shares in January with a view to Radrizzani securing 100 per cent control of United this month.

“In the bigger picture we are working on buying back the stadium which could happen in a few months, maybe by the end of the summer,” Radrizzani said.

“I’m very active already. It’s not that I’m kicking in today. I’ve been kicking in for a long time. With Massimo, in this period he let me work on the future. I wasn’t really involved too much in the day to day football. I could work to prepare for my time and my time is here.

“The club has to pay higher rent on Elland Road every year. We don’t know at the moment if it will be the club (who buy the stadium), me financing the club to do it or buying the property with another vehicle but the club for sure will be lighter and there will be a lot of cost-cutting by bringing the asset within my group, rather than a third-party owner.”

Elland Road is still understood to be owned by Jacob Adler, the Manchester businessman who bought it in November 2004.

The ground was sold to him by the Yorkshire consortium, headed by Gerald Krasner, who had taken control of Leeds earlier that year but were beset by financial problems. A 25-year lease and buy-back clause was negotiated as part of the sale.

United’s Thorp Arch training ground was also bought by Adler at the same time but the club’s right to repurchase that property elapsed in 2009 while Ken Bates was chairman. Leeds are tied to a lease of the Wetherby complex for another 12 years with a rent which increases annual.

Radrizzani, however, is understood to be drawing up plans for extensive work to the land surrounding Elland Road, including the construction of a new training centre by 2020.
