26th March 1923

Regular daily weather forecasting began on BBC Radio.

Normally fairly accurate to give credit to the BBC but some scurrilous individuals have hijacked that concept and dabbled in their own WF's, post their drivel on message-boards, which put others in danger of getting frost bite after being told that day will be a balmy 19.5 degrees Celsius, or on the other extreme suffer from heat exhaustion because the very same "forecaster" predicates temperatures will barely reach 5C and 35-50mm of perception will fall so "wrap up well", only to find temps have hit 22.4C at 12noon and not a cloud in the sky.

Some people ey!!!!

11th April 1960

The US launched the worlds first weather satellite - TIROS 1

Meanwhile somewhere in England a certain blue blooded individual remains convinced that the only credible way to predict the weather is to look at a stone outside his back door!!!!!!!!!

Decent players on that list Tosh. The judas aside.
I thought McPhail never quite hit his peak, sadly, with Leeds. Injuries didn't help him either.

Doubtful mouseman Capt Cook didn’t discover this place until 1770 and Capt Philip didn’t start settlement until 1788...so maybe 1811 might be the correct year
